scheduling
To schedule an appointment, please call my confidential voicemail at any time of day. I will do my best to return your call within one business day. The relationship with your therapist is the most important determinant of a positive outcome in therapy, and I welcome talking with you by phone to help you understand more of my approach and how we might work together, so you can make this important decision.
initial session
It's normal to feel many things when beginning therapy - some people are excited others feel more anxious. Please let me know if there is anything that would help you to feel more comfortable as we begin our work together.
Please also print and fill out the intake documents and bring them with you to our first session. And ask me any questions you may have. |
fees
My fee is $300 per 50 minute session. While I am not currently on any insurance panels, I am happy to provide you with an invoice to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company to determine the coverage offered for out-of-network providers.

structure
My belief is that therapy shouldn't last forever or be indefinite. My practice, for new clients, is based on periods of work and periods of integration (where we take a break from weekly meetings). These work periods are often 10 - 15 weeks long or so, with a few weeks break before the next work period.
I'll let you know the dates of the session, and we commit to working together, weekly, for an entire 10 - 15 week session, with payment due for all sessions in that period (even if sessions are missed or cancelled). We tend to focus on one general theme per the work period, to work intensively on that issue. But of course, if life circumstances change, we can be flexible and decide together on a new focus. Then, at the end of the work session, we take a break, for a least a few weeks to integrate. And you let me know when/if you'd like to return for another 10 - 15 week session. We do short term intensive work, in a format that can be extended into long term work together, or limited to one 10 - 15 week session of intensive work together on one issue. This format is based loosely on learnings from AEDP research, I'm happy to discuss this and any other questions with you when you call. |
